Discrimination is common in our world today for all sorts of reasons and hearing loss is no exception.  Many people face this every day in both professional and personal settings.  Hearing loss is known as the "silent disability" because you cannot see someone's hearing loss the same way you can see a prosthetic leg or someone's vision impairment.

September 29 is World Heart Day: Aiming to cut premature deaths by 80%

Every month of the year, in countries around the world, the calendar is filled with health-related commemorative days, including World Cancer Day on February 4, World Multiple Sclerosis Day on May 25 and World Pneumonia Day on November 12. But none is nearer and dearer to our tickers than World Heart Day on September 29.
