How to stay connected at home if you have hearing loss
People with hearing loss commonly avoid social situations because they struggle to hear, and many experience loneliness and depression as a result. Now with social distancing guidelines in place, family members and friends with hearing loss are at an even higher risk for mental health issues as a result of loneliness. One study even found that loneliness was associated with a reduction in lifespan similar to that caused by smoking 15 cigarettes daily.1
